If I don’t want to wear the Gloves, Can I avoid Calluses Skin Tears?
Anyone who has done any form of weight-training has experienced calluses build-up on the inside knuckle joint of their palms. Without the use of gloves, the skin forming the callus frequently exposes broken skin bits due to the constant grinding pressure. As men (and certain women…respect), we tend to like our calluses as it makes us feel tough and hard. But your calluses may not be as welcomed by your woman while you’re caressing her soft delicate skin. Also, you may have to toughen up a notch or two once that callus build-up tears off completely, revealing a soft pink fleshy skin to grip with. Trust me, it can be quite debilitating. After a few of these experiences, you might feel like turning a new page in your training, and going with the soft cushy protection of the gloves – perhaps even with little oestrogen gel inserts for extra comfort.
For some men and certain women…respect, this can feel quite demoralizing. And I totally get that, because I personally have never been a glove lover. But let’s face it, your wife, girlfriend or hot date isn’t a fan of coming out of the bedroom looking like she had a date with Wolverine. And it does feel horrible to grip a 200lb rough bar on your exposed pinky bits. But there is a solution other than the oestrogen filled love glove. It’s known as a pumice stone and costs you roughly 5 bucks from any chemist or health store. It takes you less than a minute, will keep your hands hard and tough, but without the rough broken skin bits or risk of pinky-bit exposure (ultimately making them soft again anyway).
During your post-workout shower, grab your pumice stone, wet it, and scrub over the calluses on your wet hands. Scrub until there are no rough broken bits left.
Step 2:
Repeat during each post-workout shower.
It’s that simple and easy. It doesn’t remove your calluses all together. It simply ensures that the excess callus build-up prone to tearing is scrubbed off, and leaves your calluses with a smooth surface. Your hands will still be hard – so your girlfriend will still know she’s being touched by a man, or a certain woman…respect – but she won’t come out of the bedroom all scratched up and bleeding.
Happy scrubbing and bedroom boogie time!
